Sometimes you know exactly why you're upset. That doesn't mean you know what to do with the feeling.

You can understand why criticism hurts and still spend hours replaying someone's words. You can know you need a boundary and still say yes because disappointing someone feels unbearable.

Perhaps you've spent years in therapy, read the books and done a great deal of honest work.

Then your phone lights up with a request for one more thing. You're already exhausted, but before you've even considered what you need, you've typed, "Of course. Happy to help."

Now you're looking at your message, feeling resentful and wondering why you couldn't just say no.

Or perhaps you snap at someone you love, go quiet during a difficult conversation, or feel frightened by a change in someone's tone. Suddenly, you feel much younger than you are, and everything you know about handling the situation seems to disappear.

Afterward comes the familiar criticism:

"Why did I do that again? I should know better by now."

I know how discouraging that can feel, especially when you've worked so hard.

Inner child work gives us a way to understand what's happening in those moments, and something caring and practical to do about it. We learn to recognize the younger part of us that feels scared, rejected or responsible for keeping everyone happy. Then we practice becoming the loving adult who can listen, offer reassurance and decide what to do next.

You can begin with the moments that are happening in your life right now.

I learned this in the middle of my own messy life.

Years ago, while I was going through a difficult divorce, my therapist kept bringing me back to my inner child.

At first, I didn't understand what she meant. I had three small children, needed to work and was trying to figure out how to co-parent. There were plenty of very adult problems to solve.

But when I became overwhelmed, younger parts of me took over. I would yell at my kids, pick another fight with my ex, or make a decision I later regretted. Then my inner critic would arrive to tell me exactly how badly I'd handled it.

My therapist helped me ask different questions.

How old did that reactive part of me feel? What was she afraid of? What did she need?

Through therapy, bodywork and daily emotional practices, I began to recognize those patterns and respond differently. I learned to quiet the critic and care for the child without asking her to run my adult life.

And something wonderful happened along the way. There was more room for my intuition and creativity. I started writing books. I started dancing again. I was having more fun!

That's why I care so much about this work.

Our inner child carries the hurt we haven't known how to care for. They also carry our playfulness, imagination, wonder and intuitive knowing. As we build a loving relationship with that child, we can begin to enjoy parts of ourselves we may have put aside years ago.

I want you to experience that possibility, too.

What can begin to change?

Imagine being able to tell someone, "Let me think about that and get back to you," instead of agreeing before you've checked whether you have the time or energy.

Or noticing that a difficult conversation has frightened a younger part of you, and knowing how to soothe that part before you continue.

Perhaps you've made a mistake. You can apologize and repair what happened without spending the rest of the evening telling yourself you're a terrible person.

And perhaps you begin to notice what you enjoy again. You pick up the paints you haven't touched in years. You spend time outside without turning it into another task. You get curious about an idea and give yourself permission to follow it.

Over our eight weeks together, you'll practice how to:

  • Recognize your inner child's reactions. Notice when an old fear or survival pattern is shaping what you say and do.
  • Care for yourself when feelings run high. Use grounding, breathing and self-soothing practices when you're anxious, overwhelmed or upset.
  • Become a loving inner parent. Offer yourself the reassurance, encouragement and protection you may have needed growing up.
  • Speak up for your needs. Practice boundaries, ask for help and notice when you're taking responsibility for everyone else.
  • Understand your inner critic. Respond to its harshness without letting it decide your worth.
  • Explore your intuition. Learn to question whether an impression is coming from fear, an old wound or intuitive knowing.
  • Reconnect with pleasure and creativity. Discover what feels interesting, playful and nourishing to you now.

These are practices you can use during an ordinary day: in a text exchange, a family conversation, or the moment you realize you've pushed yourself too hard again.

The spiritual heart of this course

Why I call it sacred reparenting

In my work, the inner child is a sacred bridge between our human experience and our soul.

When we listen to the child within, we encounter the experiences that shaped us: what we learned about love, whose feelings mattered, and whether it was safe to be ourselves. We can also discover the curious, imaginative, intuitive child who still has so much to share.

That is the spiritual heart of this course.

We'll bring emotional tools together with guided meditation, energy work, journaling and spiritual exploration. We'll work with your loving inner parent, the Divine Parent archetype and your Higher Self as sources of love, wisdom and support.

For some people, receiving love is the hardest part. You may know how to give generously while finding it difficult to believe you deserve care yourself. We'll make time to explore that, too.

And we'll make room for joy.

Joy comes from being fully present in the moment. When we're absorbed in something we love, even simple things can bring us great pleasure. Our inner child can help us rediscover that ability to wonder, explore and enjoy being alive.

You don't need psychic experience to join. An interest in this spiritual approach and a willingness to get to know yourself are enough to begin.

If you recognize yourself here, I'd love to help you put this work into practice.

Over eight weeks, we'll make time to care for the parts of you that are hurting and reconnect with what brings you pleasure, curiosity and joy.

Learn about the book

A book to practice with. A course to practice together.

My book, Sacred Reparenting, offers a framework, reflections and exercises you can explore on your own.

This course gives us eight weeks to work with those ideas together.

You may understand what a loving inner parent is and still struggle to find that compassionate voice when you're upset. You may sit down to meditate and hear only your critic, or wonder whether you're connecting with your inner child at all.

I'll guide you through practices that help you recognize these different parts of yourself and begin a conversation with them. We'll explore what your younger self needs, how to offer care, and how to bring that relationship into your daily life.

Between classes, you'll have practices to return to, so you can become familiar with them at your own pace.

You don't need to read the book before joining. The course stands on its own. If you'd like the book as a companion, it is available separately.

Our eight weeks together

  1. 1Week

    Meet your inner child

We'll begin by getting to know your inner child: the younger parts that need comfort, and the playful, intuitive child you may have lost touch with.

Through guided meditation and reflection, you'll explore ways to connect. You'll learn how to begin a conversation through journaling and how to notice your inner child's feelings, needs and interests during your day.

  2. 2Week

Understand the parent wound and your survival patterns

Children find ways to adapt to the families they grow up in. Perhaps you became the good one, the helpful one, the quiet one or the one who needed nobody.

    We'll explore six survival patterns:

    • Perfect Child
    • People Pleaser
    • Stoic
    • Lone Wolf
    • Dreamer
    • Rebel

You'll consider which patterns you recognize, how they helped you growing up and where they make life harder now.

We'll also explore how old fears can influence intuitive impressions, and begin practicing discernment.

  3. 3Week

    Explore family and ancestral patterns

What did your family teach you about love, anger, responsibility, money or asking for help? Which beliefs do you still live by, even though you might never have chosen them for yourself?

Through reflection, ancestral energy work and guided meditation, we'll explore the patterns that have traveled through your family. You'll consider what you want to carry forward, what you want to change and what support you wish to draw from your lineage.

  4. 4Week

    Create emotional and energetic safety

If you've spent years anticipating the next problem, relaxing may feel unfamiliar. We'll explore ways to help you settle and recognize when you need a pause.

You'll practice grounding, breathing and self-soothing, along with the spiritual protection practices I teach. We'll also create an inner sanctuary you can return to in meditation, a place where you can spend time with your inner child and offer them comfort.

  5. 5Week

    Become the loving inner parent

What would you have needed a loving adult to say or do when you were young?

This week, we'll begin practicing that kind of care. We'll work with the Divine Parent archetype and your Higher Self as you develop your own loving inner parent.

You'll explore how to offer reassurance, encouragement and protection, and how to follow through with choices that respect your needs. We'll also make room for receiving care from other people.

  6. 6Week

    Befriend your inner critic

Your inner critic may believe that keeping you perfect, small or constantly prepared will protect you from being hurt.

We'll get curious about that voice: what it says, when it gets louder and what it may be afraid of. Through meditation and journaling, you'll practice responding with compassion while making your own decisions about what needs attention.

You can take responsibility for a mistake without agreeing with everything your critic says about you.

  7. 7Week

Bring the work into your relationships

Relationships often bring our childhood patterns into sharp focus. We may chase reassurance, avoid conflict, overgive or stop saying what we need.

We'll explore attachment patterns and boundaries, and I'll teach you Pause, Regulate, Reparent, Respond, a practice you can use when a conversation becomes difficult.

We'll also work with repair: how to come back after a hard moment, acknowledge what happened and begin a more honest conversation.

  8. 8Week

    Welcome the magical, creative child

We'll give attention to the child within who wants to imagine, explore and play.

Through child archetypes, intuitive exploration and creative practices, you'll discover ways to welcome these qualities into your life. What interests you? What delights you? What would you like to try if you didn't have to be good at it?

We'll close with a blessing and a plan for continuing your practice, with tools for the difficult days and invitations to enjoy the good ones.

What our time together will be like

Our classes combine teaching with guided meditation, energy work and reflection. I'll explain the practices and guide you through them, with opportunities to notice what comes up for you.

Some practices may feel natural. Others may take time. You can participate at a pace that respects your needs, and you can pause a meditation or exercise when you want to.

Between classes, you'll explore the work in your own life. That might mean journaling with your inner child, practicing a boundary or noticing how you speak to yourself when something goes wrong.

There will also be invitations to play and follow your curiosity. You might draw, spend time in nature or listen to music you love. Pay attention to what you enjoy and what you find yourself wanting more of.

This work can touch tender places. You won't need to force a memory, produce an emotional breakthrough or share something you'd rather keep private.

We'll practice listening with care, including when the answer is,

"That's enough for today."

Is this a good fit for you?

This course may be a good fit if you:

  • Understand some of your childhood patterns but still get caught in them when you're upset.
  • Spend a lot of energy keeping other people happy and find it difficult to ask for what you need.
  • Feel responsible for everything and struggle to accept help or rest.
  • Want to develop a kinder relationship with yourself, with practices you can actually use.
  • Are drawn to spirituality, intuition, meditation and energy work.
  • Would appreciate guidance and a regular time to focus on this work.
  • Miss feeling playful, creative or excited about something that is just for you.

You can love your parents and still acknowledge what hurt. You can appreciate what they gave you and recognize what you needed but didn't receive.

You don't have to describe your childhood as terrible to benefit from this work. And you don't need your family to agree with your experience before you begin caring for yourself.

A few questions you may have

I've already done a lot of therapy. Can this still help me?

Therapy has been an important part of my own healing, and I deeply respect it.

This course offers a spiritual approach to inner child work, with guided meditation, energy practices and ways to develop your loving inner parent. You can explore these practices alongside what you've already learned in therapy.

If you understand your patterns but would like support practicing how to care for yourself when they show up, there is plenty for us to work with.

What if I don't remember much of my childhood?

We can begin with what you notice now: a feeling, a reaction, a familiar worry or a pattern in your relationships.

You don't need to recover memories to participate. We won't force a story about your childhood or assume that a feeling tells us exactly what happened.

What if I can't connect with my inner child?

That's a common place to begin. You might find it easier to notice your inner critic, your fear of disappointing someone or the impulse to handle everything yourself.

We'll explore different ways to connect, including journaling, guided meditation and paying attention to your everyday reactions. You don't need to see a clear image of a child to participate.

Will this bring up difficult feelings?

It may. Inner child work can touch grief, anger and other tender feelings. You're welcome to slow down or pause a practice, and I encourage you to use the personal support you need.

This course is spiritual education and practice. It is not psychotherapy, clinical treatment or a substitute for individual care from a qualified professional. A group course cannot offer the individual attention and responsiveness of therapy.

If you're unsure whether this work is appropriate for you right now, talk with your therapist or another qualified clinician before enrolling. If you need therapeutic support alongside the course, please have that in place.

Do I need to be psychic or follow a particular religion?

No. You don't need psychic training or a particular religious affiliation.

We will explore spiritual concepts and practices, including the Higher Self, the Divine Parent, ancestral work and energy healing.

What if I miss a live class?

[CONFIRMED REPLAY ARRANGEMENTS, ACCESS TERM AND HOW TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS, IF AVAILABLE]

Do I need the book?

No. The course stands on its own.

If you've read Sacred Reparenting, you'll recognize the framework and have an opportunity to explore the practices with my guidance. The book is a separate purchase and is not included in enrollment.

Will I be finished healing after eight weeks?

Reparenting is a relationship you continue to develop. Our eight weeks will give you time to get to know your inner child, practice becoming a loving inner parent and find ways to keep going.

Progress might mean noticing a reaction sooner, saying what you need, accepting help or recovering from a difficult moment with less self-criticism.

You'll have practices to return to as your life and needs change.

Inner child work is part of my own life, too. I know what it's like to understand a pattern and still find myself caught in it. I also know the pleasure of discovering that something has changed: I can respond differently, treat myself more kindly or try something I once would have talked myself out of.

I love teaching this work because it brings together so much of what matters to me: emotional healing, spiritual connection, intuition, creativity and the freedom to enjoy our lives.

Come get to know your inner child with me.

Perhaps you already know some of the patterns you want to change. You're ready to practice what to do when they show up, and give yourself more care along the way.

Over eight weeks, I'll guide you through meeting your inner child, becoming a loving inner parent and bringing that relationship into your everyday life.

We'll make room for the tender feelings, and for the curiosity, intuition and joy you want more of.
